Non si può certo dire che la prima giornata del Google I/O , che è iniziato ieri al Moscone Center di San Francisco, sia stata noiosa. Jelly Bean e Nexus Seven sono state le novità principali, anche se ampiamente annunciate ed il nostro grande Mik ha già provveduto a riassumerle QUI e QUI. La sorpresa, anche se per ora riservata al solo mercato americano è stato il Nexus Q, un piccolo computer a forma sferica arriva come una ventata di aria fresca. Google lo ha presentato come un “computer fatto per vivere in casa” ed è di fatto un hub multimediale da collegare alla tv, e controllare anche attraverso i dispositivi Android. Si connette in wifi o ethernet e può essere usato come centro di smistamento multimediale per i contenuti disponibili sui dispositivi. In pratica una sorta di stazione multimediale che permette lo streaming dei contenuti dai device Android; ci si può anche giocare a fare il deejay, con gli utenti Android che “spingono” la loro musica nel dispositivo. Potrà essere collegato agli altoparlanti esterni che Google ha già messo in vendita sullo Store e offrirà la possibilità di riprodurre sulla propria Tv i video di YouTube e la musica del Google Music, purtroppo ancora non disponibile nel nostro paese. Nexus Q supporta i protocolli wireless Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC e Bluetooth. E’ presente un sensore touch capacitivo che consente di effettaure il muting audio. Nexus Q adotta il sistema operativo Android 4.0 ICS ed integra 1 GB di memoria RAM e 16GB di memoria dedicata allo storage, il processore è un TI OMAP 4460, l’amplificatore è da 25 Watt ed è dotato di porta HDMI per la connessione alle televisioni ad Alta Definizione. Il tutto per 299$ che, come sempre capita, ammesso che arrivi anche da noi, diventeranno 300€.
