In attesa dei nuovi dispositivi QNX (BlackBerry OS 10) che arriveranno, forse, al MWC di Barcellona, al CES di Las Vegas RIM ha presentato tutte le novità presenti nell’importante aggiornamento del sistema operativo del PlayBook, il tablet da 7 pollici della casa canadese. La nuova versione 2.0 arricchisce il tablet di nuove, comode funzioni fra le quali, ad esempio, la possibilità di scrivere utilizzando la tastiera di un Bold 9900 ad esso collegato; fra le altre novità una nuova gestione dei servizi e-mail e messaggistica che arricchiscono l’esperienza d’uso del PlayBook. • Nuova casella di posta integrata – Una casella automatica di posta integrata che consente agli utenti di gestire velocemente le loro mail personali e gli account di posta elettronica aziendale, gestire la funzionalità di messaggistica di popolari siti di social networking come Twitter®, LinkedIn® e molti altri.

Le informazioni su quei contatti e sulla loro azienda è fornita automaticamente dai siti di social networking.
• Un’applicazione basata sulla relazione tra i contatti – Più di una semplice rubrica, la nuova applicazione automatica Contatti funziona come un centro social. Permette la  fusione e il consolidamento di informazioni da fonti multiple (compresi i canali e-mail e social) in un unico file, per ogni singola persona nella rubrica. Ogni file contiene informazioni di contatto, come aggiornamenti di stato recenti, conversazioni, articoli e notizie relative a contatti che sono aggiornate costantemente in modo automatico.

• Telecomando per BlackBerry PlayBook – Le caratteristiche del nuovo BlackBerry® Bridge™ consentono all’utente di trasformare il suo smartphone BlackBerry®  in una tastiera e in un mouse per il BlackBerry PlayBook fornendo, di fatto, un telecomando senza fili per il tablet.
