E dopo qualche settimana dall’articolo del nostro grande Mik , questa mattina (la sera per voi) finalmente ho ricevuto la notifica che l’aggiornamento ad Ice Cream Sandwich per il mio Tablet S era pronto da scaricare. Ho collegato il tablet alla corrente ed in 20 minuti (collegamento wifi dell’albergo pessimo) ho scaricato i 226 Mb dell’update. A parte i cambiamenti grafici troviamo diverse, interessanti, novità: la schermata di blocco avanzata che consente l’accesso diretto alle notifiche oltre allo sblocco diretto alla funzionalità camera. La galleria Media Viewer è stata migliorata con accesso diretto ai file contenuti nell’eventuale memoria SD e propone strumenti di editing foto. Adesso è possibile eseguire anche le cosiddette “piccole applicazioni – Small Apps”,  in una finestra più piccola grazie al multitasking. La fluidità generale è migliorata notevolmente così come il browser che risponde ai comandi con una velocità che non avevo mai visto su un dispositivo Android. Purtroppo non mi sono portato dietro il cavalletto per la videocamera ma, se riesco ad organizzarmi, cercherò di riprendere una breve recensione.

Sony Tablet S, finally Ice Cream Sandwich

And after a few weeks from the article of our great Mik, this morning (evening for you) I finally got the notification that the update to Ice Cream Sandwich for my Tablet S was ready to download. I plugged the tablet and in 20 minutes (bad wifi connection in this hotel) I downloaded the 226 Mb of the update. Aside from the graphic changes, there are different, interesting, news: the lock screen that gives your direct access to the notifications in addition to the direct camera features unlock. Media Viewer gallery has been improved with direct access to the files in the eventual memory card and photo editing tools option. Now you can perform the so called “Small Apps” in a smaller window, thanks to multitasking. The general flow is improved considerably, as the browser responds to commands with a speed that I had never seen on an Android device. Unfortunately, I didn’t get my camera stand but, if I will be able, I will try to take a brief review.
