Oggi per Google è una data speciale: quattro anni fa, il 23 Ottobre, debuttava sul mercato americano, nella versione per T-Mobile, il G1 di HTC, primo dispositivo a montare il nuovo sistema operativo Android. Arriverà in Italia con il nome di Dream, proposto da Tim e Vodafone in versioni “stupidamente” castrate da pesanti brandizzazioni. Ricordo ancora quando lo ricevetti dagli Stati Uniti dopo un difficilissima procedura di acquisto; dopo iPhone fu il vero antagonista di BlackBerry e Nokia, dominatrici del mercato con i loro dispositivi ed è stato il primo passo di un cammino che, attualmente, vede attivare ogni giorno 1,3 milioni di dispositivi Android, tanti da garantire, ad oggi, 500 milioni di esemplari venduti. Buon compleanno G1.

Today is a special date for Google: four years ago, on October 23rd, it made his debut on the U.S. market, in the version for T-Mobile, the HTC G1, the first device to install the new operating system Android. It will arrive in Italy under the name Dream, proposed by Tim and Vodafone in  “stupidly” castrated by heavy customization versions. I still remember when I got it from the United States after a difficult purchase process; after the iPhone was the real antagonist of BlackBerry and Nokia, dominating the market with their devices, and it was the first step on a journey that currently sees activated each day 1.3 million Android devices, so many as to ensure, to date, 500 million devices sold.
