Nonostante la mancanza sui dati di vendita del Nexus 4 e le persistenti difficoltà di approvvigionamento del dispositivo, LG non trascura di apportare miglioramenti in fase di produzione dei nuovi esemplari. Nel caso specifico si tratta di due piccoli rilievi della cornice in gomma, in prossimità dei fori delle viti, posti proprio dove termina il profilo del vetro del display. La casa non ha rilasciato nessun comunicato ma è facile immaginare che abbia recepito le lamentele degli utenti relativamente alla facilità con cui la cover posteriore tende a graffiarsi; le due sporgenze evitano il contatto diretto con la superficie di appoggio grazie allo spazio che, seppur minimo, creano e che contribuisce anche alla maggior diffusione del suono dello speaker. Altro leggero cambiamento, non è dato di sapere se voluto da LG o solo frutto dell’eccessiva tolleranza di progetto, è la superficie intorno alla lente della fotocamera che, come si vede nelle foto, nei nuovi Nexus 4 risulta leggermente ridotto.
