Il nostro immenso Loris ne ha parlato, soltanto con un accenno, sull’ultimo “Mettiamoci la Faccia“, ed io vi mostro il display flessibile di Samsung che potrebbe equipaggiare il prossimo Galaxy S4. La casa coreana ha battezzato questa tecnologia YOUM ed un esemplare è stato presentato senza troppi clamori durante il CES che si è appena concluso; le dimensioni sono da 4,99 pollici con risoluzione full HD (1080p), misura che confermerebbe la scelta di incrementare di 0,2 pollici il display rispetto all’attuale GS3 ma, per evitare un consumo della batteria eccessivo, le parti curve alla base e di lato si illuminerebbero soltanto in caso di necessità: la parte laterale per le notifiche, le chiamate perse, le mail o i messaggi mentre la parte inferiore potrebbe essere configurata a piacere dell’utente, per esempio per le notizie di borsa o il meteo. I nuovi display AMOLED YOUM garantirebbero il 25% di efficienza in più a parità di consumo di batteria e possono essere utilizzati anche con risoluzioni qHD o HD.

Here it is the flexible display that we may see on next Galaxy S4

Our huge Loris spoke, only a hint, during the last “Mettiamoci la faccia” and I show you the Samsung flexible display that could equip the next Galaxy S4. The Korean company has named this technology YOUM and a copy was presented without much fanfare at CES that has just ended; dimensions are 4.99-inch with full HD resolution (1080p), a measure that would confirm the decision to increase of 0.2 inch the display compared to the GS3 but, to avoid an excessive battery drain, the curved parts of the base and the side will enlighten only in case of necessity: the side for notifications, missed calls, e-mails or messages while the bottom may be configured by user, for example for stock notification or weather. The new AMOLED YOUM display would ensure the 25% more efficient at same battery use and can also be used with resolutions qHD or HD.
