Ieri abbiamo pubblicato la notizia del nuovo aggiornamento OTA per il Galaxy S3 che, fra gli altri fix, ha rimosso dal dispositivo la “ricerca locale” (local search) cioè quella funzione che permette, attraverso la digitazione di una parola la ricerca di elementi direttamente sul dispositivo. Il tutto ha fatto pensare ad una scelta volta ad evitare nuove denunce da parte di Apple e che, negli States, hanno causato una temporanea sospensione delle vendite del Galaxy Nexus. Oggi Samsung, con un comunicato ufficiale (che troverete in inglese dopo il break) ha fatto sapere che la rimozione è stata dovuta ad un errore e da considerare del tutto involontaria. Un nuovo update nei prossimi giorni ripristinerà la situazione precedente.

Galaxy S3 “local search” removal was a mistake

Yesterday we published the news of a new OTA update for the Galaxy S3, which, among other fixes, removed from the device the “local search” that is the feature that allows, by typing a word, to search items directly on the device. All this let us thinking to a choice to avoid further complaints from Apple and that, in the States, have caused a temporary suspension of Galaxy Nexus sales. Samsung Today, with an official statement has indicated that the removal was due to an error and must be considered quite inadvertent. A new update in the next few days will restore the previous situation.
