In Tecnology Group Limited(ITG) è una compagnia cinese specializzata nella ricerca, sviluppo e produzione di dispositivi internet mobili tascabili. Il dispositivo che più ha contribuito a farla conoscere nel resto del mondo è stato l’xpPhone, un dispositivo che sulla carta, grazie ad una particolare versione di Windows ed una dotazione HW di tutto rispetto, prometteva notevoli prestazioni. Purtroppo fattori quali la scarsa autonomia, le dimensioni e diversi bug ne hanno frenato la diffusione. Oggi il produttore cinese ci riprova presentando xpPhone2, un vero e proprio “mostro” tecnologico: processore Intel Atom Z530 da 1,6 GHz, 2 Gb di RAM, fino a 112 Gb di memoria SSD, tastiera QWERTY slide, display da 4,3 pollici e batteria che garantirebbe fino a 18 ore di chiamata e ben 46 giorni (??) in stand-by; anche le dimensioni hanno raggiunto misure più “umane” arrivando a 140mm x 73mm x 17.5mm (AxLxS). Ma la vera chicca sarebbe la compatibilità con Windows 7 e Windows 8 (ovviamente quando sarà disponibile) che lo renderebbero uno dei più completi smartphone sul mercato. Potrebbe essere disponibile a partire dal prossimo Gennaio, forse al CES 2012 di Las Vegas; sono curioso di conoscerne il prezzo, e voi?

ITG xpPhone2, a real “monster”

In Technology Group Limited (ITG) is a Chinese company specializing in research, development and production of mobile internet pocket devices. The device that has most contributed to make it known in the rest of the world was the xpPhone, a device which, on paper, thanks to a particular version of Windows and an hardware allocation of all respect, promised very interesting performances. Unfortunately, factors such as lack of autonomy, big size and several bugs have slowed the spread. Today the Chinese manufacturer tries again presenting xpPhone2, a real technological “monster”: 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, 2 GB of RAM, up to 112 GB of SSD memory, QWERTY slide keyboard, 4.3 inch display and battery which provides up to 18 hours of call and almost 46 days (?) in stand-by;  sizes too have reached “human” measures getting 140mm x 73mm x reaching 17.5mm (AxLxS). But the real treat would be compatibility with Windows 7 and Windows 8 (of course when it will be available) which would make it one of the most complete smartphone on the market. It may be available from next January, perhaps at 2012 CES in Las Vegas; I’m curious to know the price, and you?
