Dopo esserci gustati una scorpacciata di novità decisamente importanti, ultima delle quali il Galaxy S4, si torna ad analizzare il sempre affascinante mondo dei rumors; abbiamo avuto modo più volte di verificare che i famigerati “eventi” organizzati dalle case non fanno altro che ufficializzare quanto apparso in rete nelle settimane precedenti. L’ultimo pettegolezzo, in ordine di tempo, riguarda il successore del Nexus 4, conosciuto per ora con il nome in codice di “Megalodon” ma che, con poca fantasia, potrebbe chiamarsi Nexus 5.  Google dichiara che sta ancora valutando diversi prototipi ma quello di LG che appare nella foto avrebbe riscosso l’iniziale approvazione dei vertici di Mountain View. Le caratteristiche tecniche, se confermate, sembrano più quelle di un rimorchiatore che di uno smartphone: display OLED (strana scelta per LG) da 5,2 pollici Full HD, processore Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 da ben 2,3 GHz, 3 GB di RAM, batteria da 3300 mAh, fotocamera posteriore da 16 Mpx con possibilità di registrare video a 1080p e 60fps, fotocamera anteriore da 2.1 Mpx e registrazione a 1080p. e 30 fps., controllo funzioni con gestures. Nelle specifiche si parla anche di ricevitore DVB, tipico dei prodotti destinati al mercato coreano. La domanda sorge spontanea: sarà vero?

After we enjoyed a feast of very important news, last of which the Galaxy S4, it’s time again to analyze the ever-fascinating world of rumors; we had several times the opportunity to verify that the famous “events” organized by the houses don’t do anything more than formalize what appeared on the web weeks in advance. The latest gossip, in order of time, is about the successor to the Nexus 4, known for now with the code name “Megalodon” but that, with a little fantasy, could be called Nexus 5. Google says it is still considering several prototypes but the LG one that appears in the picture would have received the initial approval of the vertices of Mountain View. The technical features, if confirmed, seem more for a tug than a smartphone: OLED (odd choice for LG) 5.2-inch Full HD display, incredible 2,3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3 GB RAM, 3300 mAh battery, 16-megapixel rear camera with ability to record video at 1080p and 60fps, 2.1-megapixel front camera recording at 1080p. and 30 fps., control functions with gestures. In the specifications also appears a DVB receiver, typical of products for the Korean market. The question arises: is it true?
