Cari amici, a breve dovrebbe arrivare WP Bench, un software creato da Robert Varga, che ad oggi non è ancora disponibile nel Marketplace, ma non dovrebbe mancare molto alla sua apparizione. Nello specifico si tratta di un software che, grazie ad una serie di test che misurano molteplici aspetti del device (comprese le prestazioni di memoria, di storage, della CPU/GPU e della batteria), ci rivelerà se effettivamente gli smartphone WP7 partono da una base hardware/software comune,  garantendo prestazioni uguali tra tutti i dispositivi.
Poichè l’intenzione di Microsoft è proprio quella di far sì che tutti gli smartphone Windows Phone 7 abbiano prestazioni costanti, con questo software, gli utenti che hanno l’impressione che l’indice delle prestazioni di alcuni dispositivi siano migliori di altri, si potranno togliere la curiosità.

Dear friends, should soon coming out WP Bench, a software created by Robert Varga, which is not yet available in the Marketplace, but it should be available soon. Specifically it’s a software that, thanks to a series of tests that measure multiple aspects of device (including memory performance, storage, CPU/GPU and battery), will reveal if smartphone WP7 starting from a common basic hardware/software, ensuring equal performance between all devices.

Con il confronto di oggi sono andato a “completare” la video comparazione di ieri, testando fluidità ed usabilità nella home e nella navigazione internet di iPhone4 (senza JB per eliminare eventuali dubbi sul confronto) e Nexus S; noterete che in siti dove non è richiesto il supporto al flash risulta davvero molto buona e senza il benchè minimo lag. Ho, inoltre, messo i display alla luminosità massima, il nero del Nexus S è impressionante

Saranno fra le stelle indiscusse del prossimo MWC di Barcellona ed i ragazzi di Engadget non hanno dovuto aspettare a lungo per metterli a confronto. Nelle foto e nel video che seguono avrete modo di vedere a confronto LG Optimus Dual e Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Entrambi con ottime freccie al proprio arco (processore dual-core il primo, Gingerbread il secondo, per esempio) e pronti a far ballare le nostre scimmie come non mai. Buona visione.

Un ventina di giorni fa, grazie a Massi ed Eduard, abbiamo confrontato il Nexus S con iPhone 4 e Samsung Omnia 7; un paio di settimane dopo ho deciso di acquistare anch’io il figlio prediletto di mamma Google. Ho così avuto modo di provarlo qualche giorno on the road, da qui la decisione di un confronto più approfondito con il MelaFonino, disputa già iniziata nella foto comparazione di ieri.

Dopo aver annunciato l’evento che vi descrivemmo in questo articolo, Samsung ha rilasciato il primo promo video relativo al nuovo Galaxy S che tutti noi siamo curiosi di conoscere. Una prova particolare per vedere quanto distorce l’audio del Nexus S in fase di video ripresa; l’ho avvicinato al mio stereo ed ho gradualmente alzato il volume fino al massimo. Come previsto, oltre una certa soglia gracchia, ma lo faceva anche il Samsung Wave che è dichiaratamente più multimediale.

One particular test to try how much Nexus S audio distorts on video capture; i approched to my stereo set and i, gradully increased the volume until the max. As expected over a certain limit it caws but it was the same for the Samsung wave most multimedia device.
