Proseguono i test sul mio nuovo Sony Xperia Arc S, è la volta della parte multimediale, assolutamente di livello e del mirroring tramite HDMI Out, funzione molto utile che ci permette di giocare, navigare, visualizzare foto video e quanto altro sul nostro televisore di casa. Secondo giorno di test per il Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc; la prova di oggi vede il nostro smartphone impegnato con il mirroring TV, collegato al mio televisore Hd attraverso il cavo HDMI/microHDMI fornito di serie nella confezione. Come vedrete dal filmato i risultati sono eccellenti ma, per onestà, devo subito dire che il telefono non è configurato come il mio principale; lo utilizzo, infatti, come dispositivo aziendale e non ci sono tante applicazioni installate oltre a quelle di default. Ho un live wallpaper attivo e proprio il rientro nella home da qualunque applicazione mostra il lato debole di questo Arc: i soli 512 Mb di RAM si fanno sentire e vi è un leggero ritardo nella ripresa del funzionamento dello stesso wallpaper. Ottima riproduzione video e audio anche se, dopo una decina di minuti con il display acceso, il telefono scalda abbastanza. Quando il cavo HDMI è collegato il telefono setta di default la visione in landscape per tutte le apps (tranne la home) e ho dimenticato di verificare se si può escludere questo automatismo. Ottime notizie anche dalla batteria. Ma adesso mi fermo qui, altrimenti vi dico tutto e poi non guardate più il video che, come sempre troverete dopo il break. Buona visione.

Second day of testing for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc; proof that today’s sees our phone busy with mirroring Tv, connected to my HD TV through the HDMI cable/microHDMI bundled in the package. As you will see on the movie the results are excellent but, in all honesty, I must immediately say that the phone is not configured as my main; I use it, in fact, as a job phone and there are not many applications in addition to those installed by default. I have a live wallpaper installed and active and just returning home from anywhere in the application shows the weak side of the Arc: the only 512 MB of RAM are being felt and there is a slight delay in the resumption of the operation of the same wallpaper. Excellent video and audio playback even though, after about ten minutes with the LCD screen on, the phone warms up enough. When the HDMI cable is connected the phone sets the vision in landscape by default for all apps (except the home) and I forgot to check if it is possible override this automatism. Good news also from the battery. But now I stop here, otherwise I tell you everything and then you don’t watch the video that, as always you will find below. Enjoy.

Motorola Droid Bionic, un altro gigante nell’arena

La prima volta che ne abbiamo parlato era il mese di Gennaio ma, da allora, parecchie cose sono cambiate. Adesso che il Motorola Droid Bionic è quasi pronto al debutto come non notare le dimensioni XXL (notate il confronto con Defy)? Il display è, infatti, un 4,5 pollici qHD con risoluzione 96ox540, classica per questo tipo di display. Fra le altre caratteristiche fotocamera da 8 Mpx, registrazione full Hd, batteria da 1750 mAh, uscita HDMI e Gingerbread 2.3.4. Per ora è solo prevista la versione CDMA per Verizon e lo si aspetta per fine estate. Speriamo nella omologa versione GSM/UMTS anche per noi “vecchi” europei.

Motorola Droid Bionic, another giant in the arena

The first time we talked about was the month of January but, sincethat moment, many things have changed. Now that the Droid Bionic is almost ready to debut how don’t note the XXL size (note Defy comparison)? The display is, in fact, a 4.5-inch qHD resolution 96ox540, classical for this type of display. Other features include 8-megapixel camera, Full HD recording, a 1750 mAh battery, HDMI output and Gingerbread 2.3.4. For now it is only provided for the CDMA version for Verizon and it is expected for late summer. We hope in the homologous GSM/UMTS for us ”old” european.

Ufficiale: è in arrivo il tablet Toshiba Thrive con Android 3.1

Nei mesi scorsi vi è vociferato parecchio sul nuovo tablet Android di Toshiba, mostrato al CES 2011. Finalmente Toshiba ha confermato che il tablet sarà chiamato “Thrive” e che la pre-ordinazione inizierà già la prossima settimana. Il dispositivo disporrà di OS Android 3.1, processore Tegra 2 dual-core, display IPS, uscita HDMI, porte USB e molto altro, con possibilità di cambiare la cover posteriore del tablet, personalizzandola con il vosto colore preferito.

Tra le varie, Toshiba ha aggiunto: la sua tecnologia Resolution+, che aumenta notevolmente la qualità d’immagine dei segnali video tradizionali, un file manager migliore così come alcune applicazioni di terze parti pre-installate tra cui QuickOffice e LogMeIn.

Il Thrive verrà venduto, a partire dall’inizio di luglio, in tre versioni:

da 8 GB, a 429 $
da 16 GB, a 479 $
da 32 GB, a 579 $

Purtroppo non vi sono ancora informazioni dettagliate sui Paesi in cui verrà commercializzato, ma certamente, tra qualche giorno, ne sapremo di più.

Ufficiale: coming soon Toshiba Thrive Tablet, with Android 3.1

In last months, we have heard a lot of rumors about Toshiba’s upcoming Android tablet, shown at CES 2011.Toshiba has finally confirmed that the tablet will be called “Thrive” and that the pre-ordering will begin next week. The device il shipped with Android OS 3.1, has Tegra 2 dual-core processor, IPS display, HDMI output, USB ports and much more, with the possibility to change the back cover of the tablet and replace it with your favorite color.

The Thrive will start shipping early July, in three versions:

8 GB, 429 $
16-GB, 479$
32 GB, 579 $

Among the various, Toshiba has added its Resolution+ technology, which greatly increases the image quality of traditional video signals, a better file manager as well as some third party applications pre-installed including QuickOffice and LogMeIn.

Unfortunately, there are still no details on which countries will be marketed, but certainly, in a few days, we’ll know more.

Finalmente oggi mi è arrivato il cavo HDMI per il mio Iconia Tab che avevo ordinato quasi un mese fa sulla “baia” e quindi ho subito provveduto alla registrazione del video. E’ stata l’occasione per provare per la prima volta la mia nuova videocamera Hitachi Full HD che ho comprato un paio di settimane fa e vi prego di segnalarmi eventuali problemi. Vi anticipo che per motivi di equa divisione delle televisioni di casa ho eseguito la prova sul TV HD da 20 pollici e non su quello da 37 impegnato dalla dolce metà per la visione di un film. Anche per questo, essendo distante dalla videocamera, il volume della voce è un po’ basso. Posso dire che non ci sono sorprese in merito alla prova perchè l’Iconia se la cava più che egregiamente anche in questo test. Ma, come sempre, i migliori giudici sarete voi cari utenti. Acer Iconia Tab A500, HDMI mirroring TV test

Finally today I got my HDMI cable for my Iconia Tab that I ordered almost a month ago on the “bay” and then I immediately proceeded to the video recording. It ’was an opportunity to try for the first time my new Hitachi Full HD camcorder that I bought a couple of weeks ago and please report me any problems. I anticipate that for the purposes of equitable division of the television at home I run the test on the 20-inch HD TV and noton the 37 one used by my sweet half for watching a movie. Even for this, being away from the camera, the voice volume is a bit low. I can say that there are no surprises on the test because Iconia gets more than admirably in this test. HTC Sensation, primo hands-on

Come anticipato stamani HTC, durante l’evento organizzato a Londra, ha presentato ufficialmente il nuovo Sensation, conosciuto fino a qualche giorno fa come Pyramid e destinato a sostituire il Desire HD. Gli amici di Slashgear hanno avuto modo di provarlo ina anteprima la nuova bestia made in Taiwan. Oltre a quanto si conosceva, sappiamo che il dispositivo avrà il display Gorilla Glass ma manterrà il solito SLCD in versione qHD; l’interfaccia “Sense” è l’ultima versione presentata con gli effetti 3D denominati “caroussel”. Non ci sarà una porta HDMI dedicata ma sarà utilizzata la tecnologia MHL HDMI che sfrutta la porta USB per l’uscita video ad alta definizione ed il mirroring TV, il cavo non dovrebbe essere incluso nella confezione. Una novità già annunciata allo scorso MWC di Barcellona è il nuovo store on-line HTC TV Watch che permetterà il noleggio e l’acquisto di films e giochi. HTC Sensation, first hands-on

As anticipated this morning HTC, during the event organized in London, has officially presented the new Sensation, known until a few days ago as the Pyramid, the Desire HD sobstitute . SlashGear‘s friends have got to try in a preview the new beast made in Taiwan. In addition to what you know, we know that the device will have the Gorilla Glass display but will continue with usual SLCD but in qHD version; ”Sense” UI is the latest version made with 3D effects, called “Caroussel”. There will be no dedicated HDMI port but it will be used MHL HDMI technology that uses the USB port for HDMI video output for high-definition TV and mirroring, the cable should not be included in the package. A new feature has already been announced at MWC in Barcelona last year is the new on-line store HTC TV Watch that will allow renting and purchasing movies and games. L’amico Diego ha recensito il suo nuovo iPad2, sottoponendolo anche la prova del mirroring tramite HDMI, le sue sensazioni, che potete leggere nell’articolo originale su TecnoPhone, sono di un’evoluzione “naturale” dell’iPad1 ma niente di sconvolgente, come ormai Apple ci ha abituato a fare nel passaggio da una versione alla successiva. Lo staff di Tipb.com ha preso un Ipad2, un cavo HDMI adattatore capace di abilitare il mirroring su tv ed ha avuto la brillante idea di effettuare un test ludico: risultato godetevi come si gioca ad Infinity Blade ed Angry Birds su un TV HD da 50″ usando un Ipad2. Forse non sarà la migliore esperienza di gioco provata, ma fornisce spunti interessanti anche per molte altre applicazioni o iniziative. Il video dopo il salto.

The staff of Tipb.com took a Ipad2, an HDMI adapter that can enable mirroring on TV and had the brilliant idea to make a test play: as a result enjoy how playing with Infinity Blade and Angry Birds on a HD TV 50″ using a Ipad2. Perhaps it may not be the best gaming experience proved, but it provides interesting ideas for many other applications or initiatives.

LG Optimus Dual, mirroring HDMI

E siamo arrivati anche al momento della prova TV ma non dobbiamo scomodare il calcio, qui Gattuso non centra per fortuna Ho collegato Optimus Dual alla mia televisione HD da 37 pollici utilizzando il cavo HDMI/miniHDMi in dotazione ed i risultati, a mio modesto parere, sono entusiasmanti considerando che il terminale che LG ci ha messo a disposizione per i test non è ancora in versione definitiva. Ma, da esperti quali siete, sarete voi i giudici migliori. Mi scuso per il rumore di sottofondo ma, purtroppo, non sono ancora riuscito a capire perchè la videocamera lo registra. Magari qualcuno di voi può aiutarmi a risolvere. Il video dopo il break. Buona visione.

LG Optimus Dual, HDMI mirroring

And we got at the TV proof moment but we must not disturb the football, here Gattuso misses fortunately :-) I connected Optimus Dual to my 37-inch HD television using the HDMI / miniHDMi cable and results, in my humble opinion, are exciting considering that the device that LG has made available for testing is not yet the final version. But, experts such as you are, you will be the best judges. I apologize for the background noise but, unfortunately, I still can not understand why the camera records it.
