Ieri si è svolto a New York un importante evento organizzato da Sprint, uno dei quattro maggiori networks americani, per l’annuncio di un nuovo dispositivo molto originale. Si tratta del Kyocera Echo, che presenta la soluzione del doppio display, ognuno WVGA high resolution da 3,5 pollici. Può essere usato come unico schermo da 4,7 pollici oppure con applicazioni diverse su ognuno dei due. Di tutto rispetto le caratteristiche tecniche: Android 2.2 FroYo, Wi-Fi hot spot, processore Snapdragon da 1GHz, fotocamera da 5 Mpx, registrazione HD a 720p., memoria interna da 1Gb accoppiata a memory card da 8Gb, batteria da 1370mAh, connessione 4G WiMax. ovviamente non lo vedremo mai dalle nostre parti. Dopo il break un paio di video, buona visione.

KYOCERA ECHO DUAL DISPLAY PRESENTED FROM SPRINT YESTERDAY IN NEW YORK

Yesterday, in New York, we had an important Sprint event, one of the four most important american networks, to announce a new original device. It is the Kyocera Echo which present the dual display solution, each one WVGA high resolution 3,5″. It can be used as 4,7″ unique display or with different apps on each display. Very interesting specs: Android OS 2.2 FroYo, WiFi b/g, hotspot, 5mp camera, 720p camcorder, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 1GB onboard memory, packed with an 8bg microSD card, 1370mAh battery, Wimax 4G connection data. Saranno fra le stelle indiscusse del prossimo MWC di Barcellona ed i ragazzi di Engadget non hanno dovuto aspettare a lungo per metterli a confronto. Nelle foto e nel video che seguono avrete modo di vedere a confronto LG Optimus Dual e Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Entrambi con ottime freccie al proprio arco (processore dual-core il primo, Gingerbread il secondo, per esempio) e pronti a far ballare le nostre scimmie come non mai. Buona visione.

Per favore non ridete perchè vi vedo. La cassa nippo svedese ha rilasciato un aggiornamento per i dispositivi della serie XPeria (X10 e X8) che, oltre al supporto a nuove lingue ed alla risoluzione di alcuni bugs di Timescape, aggiunge, come annunciato nel Novembre scorso, il pinch-to-zoom. L’aggiornamento è disponibile via OTA o attraverso la suite proprietaria su tutti i pc. Confermato che non ci sarà l’aggiornamento a FroYo.

SONY ERICSSON XPERIA SERIES GETS PINC-TO-ZOOM UPDATE

Please don’t laugh because i see all of you. Svedish japanese factory has released an update for XPeria series devices (X10 and X8) which, over new languages support and bug fixes on Timescape, adds, as announced last November, pinch-to-zoom. Update is available via OTA or through SE own suite on all PCs.  It has been confirmed that there will never be FroYo update.

Anticipo gli eventuali commenti del tipo “Ma come? Droid Pro? Solo ora? Ma non è uscito qualche mese fa?” Tutti commenti esatti e da utenti preparati come voi non potrei aspettarmi altro. Ma la ragione per cui parliamo di questo terminale solo ora è facile da intuire. La gran parte dei terminali che batista70phone testa e sottopone a prova provengono da….noi stessi. I telefoni ce li compriamo oppure qualcuno dei nostri amici lo mette a nostra disposizione. In questo caso dobbiamo ringraziare il mio carissimo amico, ed utente del Forum, Eduard che, una volta ricevuto il terminale dagli States, lo ha messo nelle mie mani per le prove di rito. Abbiamo parlato di questo terminale qualche giorno fa, QUI, relativamente ad un confronto al test Neocore con il Nexus S ed i commenti sulla sua presunta bellezza/bruttezza sono stati numerosi. Come dissi allora, il fatto che un terminale piaccia o meno è del tutto soggettivo ed a me, personalmente, il Droid Pro piace molto.

I advance your eventual comments: “What? Droid Pro? Only now? But is it not available from some month?” All right comments and, from prepared users like you, i couldn’t expect anything else. But the reason why we talk about this device just now it is easy to guess. Most part of tested and tried from batista70phone devices come from…..ourselves. We buy the phones or someone of our friends put it at our disposal. In this case we have to say thank you to my dearest friend, and our Forum user, Eduard, who, once he got the Droid Pro from States, put it in my hands for ritual tests. We talked about this device some days ago, HERE, about a Nexus S Neocore test comparison and we had a lot of comments about its alleged beauty/ugliness. How i said in that occasion, beauty is subjective and i like to much the Droid Pro.

I possessori di Nexus One stanno ricevendo un aggiornamento via OTA alla versione 2.2.2 di FroYo (FRG83G) che, però, non è ancora Gingerbread. L’aggiornamento pesa 558 Kb e dovrebbe risolvere alcuni bugs anche se ancora non si conosce con precisione quali. L’aggiornamento, qualora non lo riceveste via OTA, è disponibile QUI. Aspettiamo i vostri feedback.

NEXUS ONE GETS FROYO 2.2.2 UPDATE

Nexus One owners are getting via OTA FroYo 2.2.2 update (FRG83G) which is not Gingerbread still. Update is 558 Kb and should resolve some bugs but it doesn’t know exactly which ones. If you don’t get the update via OTA, it is available HERE. We wait for your feedback.

A differenza dell’Italia, negli States polaroid non è conosciuta solo per le macchine fotografiche ma anche per una serie di dispositivi elettronici tipo lettori dvd portatili (io stesso ne ho uno), Mp3 player, videoregistratori. Non deve stupire, quindi, che anche Polaroid presenti il suo tablet. L’Os è Android froYo, il display è da 9,7 pollici, il processore un ARM Cortex A8 da 1GHz, 4 Gb di ROM, fotocamera da 2 Mpx e batteria da 6800 mAh. Nulla di rivoluzionario.

AN ANDROID TABLET FROM POLAROID TOO

Differently from Italy, Polaroid is not known in United States only for cameras but for a series of electronic devices as portable dvd player (i have one too), Mp3 player, videorecorder. Not surprising, then, that Polaroid too presents its tablet. FroYo Android OS, 9,7″ display, 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 4 Gb of ROM, 2 Mpx camera and 6800 mAh battery. Nothing revolutionary.

Ed ecco ancora un nuovo tablet: Dell Streak 7. Anche questo dispositivo è un’esclusiva T-Mobile che sembra puntare decisamente verso i tablet più che sugli smartphones. Display da 7 pollici (800×480), supporto al Flash Player, FroYo, connessione dati 4G, processore dual core Tegra 2, fotocamera frontale da 1,3 Mpx per video chat le caratteristiche principali.
